An experienced aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon, Ms Tzafetta obtained her Medical Degree from the University of Athens and completed all her general medical and advanced plastic surgery training in the UK. In 2006 Ms Tzafetta passed plastic surgery specialist examination to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons FRCS(plast) and the European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS). She is listed on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery.
Her advanced training in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery was completed in units throughout the UK covering all aspects of the specialty. This training included a fellowship in microsurgery and facial paralysis surgery at The Microsurgical Research Center in Eastern Virginia Medical School, USA.
Ms Tzafetta was a Locum Consultant in Plastic Surgery in Leeds General Infirmary
and is presently a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the St Andrew's Centre for Plastic
Surgery and Burns in Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford where she holds her NHS post
and routinely treats patients. Ms Tzafetta has a special interest in facial and neck
surgery and is comprehensively trained in all aspects of Plastic and Cosmetic surgery.
In her NHS position, she is actively involved in the multidisciplinary management
of reconstruction of the Head and Neck following cancer removal as well with general
plastic surgery and reconstructive procedures. She performs the wide variety of cosmetic
procedures such as facelifts, eyelid surgery, breast enlargement or reduction, tummy-
Research
Ms Tzafetta was awarded a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) from the University of Bradford,
for her full time research work on wound healing. She also undertook laboratory and
clinical research on the facial nerve and facial paralysis during her fellowship
in Norfolk, Virginia for which she was awarded a grant from the Plastic Surgery Educational
Foundation (PSEF) in USA. This work has been published in the Journal of Plastic

Ms Tzafetta is a member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery (WSRM) and the Sir Charles Bell Society for facial paralysis.
