How It Works

The quality of our skin decreases with age and impairs its’ ability to bind water, leading to dull skin. Hyaluronic acid, a natural substance in the skin plays an important part in this process. By using a slightly stabilized form of hyaluronic acid and therefore slowing the speed at which it degrades in the body, water can be retained over a longer period of time. This increased ability to bind and hold water increases elasticity and fullness of the skin. While not permanent, hyaluronic acid is long-lasting and may be easily maintained with occasional follow-up injections.

Dermal Fillers

What to expect from a Dermal Filler Treatment

Whether you’re looking to revitalise your skin, smooth away wrinkles or enhance your facial features, such as your cheeks or lips - there is a treatment designed to enhance your looks and make you feel more youthful. The results of a hyaluronic acid treatment can be seen instantly – and as the treatment is non-surgical, with minimal downtime you can get on with living life to the full.

Treatment with hyaluronic acid usually takes less than thirty minutes. For wrinkle treatments no anaesthetic is required, although it can be arranged at your request. Lip enhancement is usually performed under local anaestheic.

Results are immediate and reactions to treatment are mild. Common injection-related reactions include swelling, redness, pain, itching, discolouration and tenderness of the implant site. These typically resolve within a day or two after injections into the skin and within one week after injection into the lips.
